The purpose of Wooden Potential is to show others how to find art within wood.

Because: “Everything Has Potential”

Not every piece of wood has obvious potential. Sometimes you must hold on to that piece for a long time before you find the perfect project for it. Sometimes, you have a piece of wood that you see potential in but have no idea what to do with it. My goal is to help beginners find their inner creativity. Whether it is an easy project or one that takes a little more time, planning, and power tools, I am here to help.

Impact Drill vs Regular Drill

  Impact drills and regular drills are two tools that look very similar but have different functions and features. Impact drills are designed to drive screws and bolts with a lot of power and torque, using pulses that hammer the bit forward. This makes it easier for the operator to handle and does not require as much force. Impact drills have a locking collar, and they use hex bits instead of standard bits which reduce the amount of stripping on the heads of the screws from slippage. They are more compact, lightweight, and expensive than regular drills, but they also make more noise and are not suitable for delicate work. Easy DIY Wood Shelf

  One of the easiest projects I have done so far is this handmade floating shelf.    Depending on the size you want it, the shelf requires little to no wood, tools, or expertise to make. The longest part is waiting for the stain to dry. I first came across this style of shelf on a popular home décor website listed for $149.00 that price blew my mind! I knew I could scrape up some wood and make this myself for under $20.  Step one The first step into making this shelf is to get your materials. For a 4ft shelf, you will need: 1x3x8 board 1x2x8 board (you will have scrap left over) Stain of your choosing Sandpaper Wood glue Clamp s Finish nails and hammer (or a finish nail gun ) Step two Cut your boards.
